Aerial Zip & Rappel Course

You don’t have to be a zipline whiz to zip through this canopy tour.

Get off the ground in a thrilling exploration of the rainforest – flying through the air on eight ziplines. This eco-rainforest experience is for both beginners and experts. It features ziplines, tree platforms, and rappelling and is perfect for families, groups and first-time zipliners. How’s that for a memorable and fun tree top zipline adventure?

Here’s how your aerial Ketchikan rainforest adventure will get off the ground.

You’ll start out on wheels with an eight-mile narrated coastal drive to Herring Cove, where you will then ride up a steep hillside in a custom all-terrain 4×4 Unimog to the briefing camp. After outfitting and orientation, your guides will introduce you to the ziplines that will take you on an aerial view of the rainforest below.

An Eagle’s perspective of the Tongass National Forest

Located on the border of the vast Tongass National Forest, you’re going to see everything from panoramic ocean vistas, to forest and mountain landscapes as far as your eye can see. You’ll have plenty of time to take in the scenery from the tree platforms. Along with tall stands of spruce, hemlock and cedar, the ecosystem here thrives and supports a diverse seasonal wildlife population.

After your adventure in the trees, you’ll gear down at the base camp. Stop by the General Store, where you can see the pictures taken during your zipline experience, picking out the ones you’d like to buy and shopping for mementos of your Alaska adventure. Before you head back to the dock have your camera ready as you explore the totem park, historic sawmill, watch blacksmith at work and see an eagle up close at the Alaska Raptor Center exhibit.

So much fun!!!

Our guides were Ben and Court, they were fantastic. Ben is like the Kurt Vonegut of zip lining. He gives excellent inspirational speeches as you go along, (mostly to kill time while waiting for your turn). We were pleasantly surprised to find an animal sanctuary at the end of our tour, plus hot chocolate! All in all, and amazing experience!

Collin and Anthony were terrific!

The day was worth it from start to finish. Our guides were first and foremost concerned with safety, so I never felt any unease. Anthony and Collin are very funny and creative which made it even better. They work together as a great team. I'm sorry I didn't get the name of our photographer, he was very fun as well. This was one of the best excursions during our visit to Alaska.

It was a great time..... Don't miss it!

We saw a momma bear and her cub below us!

This is great fun! Not hard and even though I am not a fan of heights or speed I enjoyed the tour thoroughly. Collin and Kelly kept us (a family of 6) in the know and ready to go. We all loved it. Don't miss it!

Amazing, fun adventure

Collin and Megan were our experienced guides that made our adventure fun and exciting. We soared on 8 zip lines, traversed 3 suspension bridges and rappelled off a platform. It may sound daunting, but our 2 guides made it all so easy and so exhilarating. It was my favorite shore adventure while cruising.

Great time

We were a family group of about 10, some were first timers looking forward to the experience others were nervous everyone left thrilled and wanting to zip line again. It’s a great time in and of itself but we had a bald eagle glide right past us and watched a bear meandering through the woods below us - made it a special Alaska experience. Safety talk and practice run made us all comfortable.
