Ketchikan Locals Enjoy Tourist For A Day!

At the start of the new cruise season, Ketchikan, Alaska opens its arms to locals for a day of exploration, discovery, and adventure. This is most often known as “Tourist for a Day”. This is an annual event where locals have the opportunity to experience Ketchikan’s top attractions, activities, and culture as if they were tourists. It’s a fantastic way to discover hidden gems, immerse yourself in the excitement and fun that Ketchikan offers to our visitors, and support local businesses. During this event, participants can take guided tours, sample delicious local cuisine, explore historic sites, and engage in fun activities that showcase the best of what Ketchikan has to offer.

This year, we provided exclusive discounts to local residents for our exciting tours, including the Rainforest Canopy Zipline Tour, Adventure Kart Expedition, and Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary & Totem Park Tour. The Adventure Kart Expedition was particularly popular this year, with 13 locals enjoying the thrilling experience. Our special offer included a minimal fee of $50 + tax for Adventure Karts and Zipline tours, while the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary & Totem Park Tour was complimentary for our community members. Tourist for a day is a great way to engage with our community and show appreciation to our locals that support us year round! Additionally, we offer discounted local rates all summer based on space available, so you have more chances to join our tours at a special rate!
Our normal local rates are as follows: Ziplines – $100, Karts – $100, Walk – $25.

If you’re a seasoned local, “Tourist for a Day” is a wonderful opportunity to see Ketchikan through fresh eyes and gain a new perspective of our home through the eyes of the tourism industry!
