Flightseeing with Taquan Air
This tour starts out with a 25 minute flight to Salmon Falls Resort that will transport guests over the northern tip of Revillagigedo Island. Along the journey of the flight, keen observers might spot mountain goats resting on pristine snow pack, black bears foraging for succulent berries, or humpback whales breaching in the ocean. As the floatplane gracefully touches down on the tranquil waters of Clover Pass Inlet, guests will arrive at the lodge where a host will welcome them. We encourage guests to have their cameras ready to capture the breathtaking sight of the floatplane taking off above the Tongass National Forest once drop off is complete.
Taste of Alaska with Salmon Falls
Your host will offer an introduction to Salmon Falls, including its history and the notable piece of the Alaska Pipeline incorporated into the timber frame of the lodge, adding a unique historical dimension to this well-known structure. Don’t worry, there will be a designated moment for pictures in front of the world famous waterfall before guests will be escorted to Timbers dining room with its awe inspiring views of Clover Passage for the second part of the tour. The Taste of Alaska experience will start with a locally-sourced Ketchikan Green Salad, featuring a delightful berry balsamic vinaigrette, candied pecans, thinly sliced red onions, and plump cherry tomatoes. Following the salad, guests will enjoy a salmon lox crostini with cream cheese, pickled red onion, scallions and local dill while our culinary team prepares the main course. Indulge your taste buds with the delightful flavors of fresh Alaskan seafood, beginning with a Dungeness crab cake with Cajun remoulade. Then enjoy honey soy glazed salmon with cilantro lime rice and baked halibut with lemon garlic butter. This culinary masterpiece showcases the locally caught seafood from Southeast Alaska and a pairing of a complimentary Alaskan beer or wine of your choice. But be sure to leave room for dessert, as the Mixed Berry Cobbler, crowned with a sumptuous streusel topping and served with a drizzle of Vanilla Crème Anglaise and Talkeetna Birch Syrup, provides the perfect conclusion to this world-class menu.
Explore the Resort & Coastal Drive Back to Town
After finishing the meal, guests will have a brief opportunity to take photos and relax on the picturesque restaurant patio while enjoying a refreshing beverage. The tour experience will conclude with a 25-minute coastal drive back into town that provides a glimpse into our vibrant waterfront community and its local history, charming harbors, fascinating totem parks, and the authentic Alaskan way of life. Please note that this tour can operate in reverse order, meaning guests might take the coastal drive first and conclude their tour with flightseeing.
